I first made it to Rome in the late 1960s, which is when I had my first bowl of simple bean soup. That's the moment I became hooked, and would spend years dreaming of making my way back. My older brother Charles later became a professor of architecture at Kent State University and the director of Kent State's Florence program, which led to my first trip back to Italy. Over time, I fell deeper in love with the country's rich history and culture, eventually taking friends and family with me to experience everything I had seen, smelled, touched, and tasted. Now, I'm excited to share my passion for Italy with you through a carefully planned itinerary that includes walking tours through the same streets, canals, and pathways that famous figures such as Marco Polo, Napoleon, and Michelangelo once traveled. My team has also scouted out the best restaurants and cafes in Florence and Venice, so you can indulge in the best of Italian cuisine.
